Zak went Woodcock Banding and had a wonderful time, he showed great control and is on his way to being certified to band with his owner on their own next year. It was a delightful experience holding baby woodcock chicks, their pin feathers just sprouting from their feather shafts. Woodcock Banding is a Department of Natural Resources Migration Project. Banders are Certified by the Michigan DNR and carry special permits to be in the woods at nesting time.
